The ability to speak, read and write is now an essential part of math class. With a focus on effective strategies for middle school students, come explore, discuss, practice and reflect upon high-leverage ideas that are highly engaging and easy-to-implement, including empowering students to:
- Talk about math in a way that is meaningful and relevant to their lives.
- Write about math to argue, communicate and justify their thinking.
- Persevere in attempting, evaluating and solving “word problems.”
